Dr Zrinka Mendas

Being deaf and multilingual, Zrinka is passionate about supporting University’s students and staff with sensory and learning impairments. She runs the BSL classes as well as sign language and sensory and learning impairment awareness workshops at the Department of Engineering, Colleges and School of Clinical Medicine. 

As a researcher, Zrinka has always regarded language learning to be an important aspect in improving the communication within the EU research community. She is native speaker of Croatian and speaks French, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and BSL. Her current research involves learning sign language with the help of gaming technology. 

 


Alison Judge

Culture and Communication Coach, Centre for Languages and Inter-Communication

Alison Judge is a Culture and Communication Coach based at the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Languages and Inter-Communication. She worked in television post-production and aviation before beginning her career in education and training, in a variety of corporate and educational settings, including with London’s diplomatic corps.  Having lived and worked across the Middle East and North Africa, as well as in India, Japan, Italy and the UK, Alison speaks a range of European and Asian languages, and is now learning her eighth, Arabic. She holds a BA in Japanese from the School of Oriental and African Studies, an MSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science and with Distinction, a Postgraduate Diploma in International Liaison and Communication, from the University of Westminster.
