Dr Zrinka Mendas

Zrinka obtained her MBA and doctorate in Economics from Kingston University in Surrey and since 2009 has taught economics and business studies at the universities in the UK.
As a researcher, Zrinka has always regarded language learning to be an important aspect in improving the communication within the EU research community. She is native speaker of Croatian and speaks French, Portuguese, Spanish, Russian and BSL.
Being deaf and multilingual, Zrinka is also passionate about supporting University’s students and staff with sensory and learning impairments. She runs the BSL classes as well as sign language and sensory and learning impairment awareness workshops at the Department of Engineering, Colleges and School of Clinical Medicine.
Her current research involves learning sign language with the help of gaming technology.
